Applicant
or applicant's parent must be a member of the Houston Electrical League. |
2. |
Students
who apply must be enrolled at a trade school, college or university,
and must submit a transcript of their grades. Those applying must
meet ONE of the following qualifications: |

a. |
A 2.5 grade average
if carrying a course load of at least 12 hours |
3. |
Applicant must must have completed 30 hours as an undergraduate at a
college, university or trade school. |
4. |
Due to
the volume of applicants, all applications must be made via the
website form. Regular mail, separate e-mail and fax transmittals of
the applications will no longer be acceptable. |
5. |
All
applicants must submit an essay of 200 words or less that includes: |

a. |
What a scholarship
will enable me to do. |
|
b. |
What the electrical business has meant to me or to me through my
parents |
6. |
All
essays must be submitted along with the original application via our
website form ONLY. Separate transmittal of the essay by way of regular
mail, e-mail, or fax will not be accepted. |
7. |
College or university
students must E-mail a copy of grades
transcript showing grade point average and total number of hours currently
enrolled. The format of the transcript transmittal must be in TIF,
PDF, or JPEG Version Only. Please make sure to reference the Students
Full Name and Social Security Number on the Transcript Transmittal! |
8. |
An
applicant winning a Houston Electrical League scholarship may reapply
for the next year's Drawing, but may not be awarded more than two
scholarships in a four-year period. Only one winner per year. |
9. |
All applicants must reapply for each Drawing in order to remain
eligible and must update their essay and transcript for each Drawing. |
10. |
All
funds will be mailed to the college or university of each student
winner. |
11. |
All winning applicants must have a H.E.L. parent attend the

Scholarship
applicant or parent must check in with the Scholarship Chairman or
his representative prior to the Scholarship Drawing at the luncheon
to officially put the application in the Drawing process. Failure
to meet these requirements will void the applicant's opportunity to
win. |
